Only after the final deadline has passed. That may be several days for some units.

First of all, close the viewer. It has been known to kill PPD.

Second, add the client-type advanced flag to each of your GPU slots. This will enable the cards to get the new Core 17 units (much higher PPD).

Third, when folding Core 17 units, nvidia cards require one CPU thread per card to be free. Set your CPU slot to SMP 6.

EDIT:
I haven't folded any 8568 units before, but I have folded a few 8575 units (which should be very similar). The TPF was about 7:18 on my 4.5 GHz 2600K running native Linux. It would probably be around 8:00 under Windows.

The client changes I recommended above should be applied after you finish your current units. Let us know if you need help applying the changes.

See that viewer,,, the one with the little molecules zibbing around.... close it. Its sucking processing power from your folding efforts.

Thx for the help.. Tried folding a while back on my 2600k and 580's a while ago.. Didn't really set it up right apparently then, so want to fix that biggrin.gif

Just installed the client and starting folding about 30 min ago, so actually my PPD on my cpu is rising slowly now.

Was just wondering what my PPD would be like if I fold in the Aug foldathon..

BTW, have you installed HFM yet? It gives much more consistent PPD estimates.

The default location is /var/lib/fahclient/
post #147 of 753
/var/lib/fahclient

In Ubuntu, by default. Other distros / custom or manual installations may differ.

[Edit]
Ninja because cell phone with 1x data signal likes to timeout.

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

Yeah I have and it means your OC is unstable. Either increase your voltage or decrease the core clock and they should disappear. In your case, it failed that WU which is why your ppd went down so much.
