Xonar DS vs DG vs D1 loudness

don't forget the Xonar D1. also remember to use the Xonar Unified drviers.

The DG is certainly louder as the DS doesn't have a headset amplifier. My DS seems able to directly power earbuds, but I doubt it would handle large headphones without an external amp.

Take the xonar dg if the soundcard is coming for headphones. DS is not designed for those when DG is.

Unified drivers, aka "Unixonar" drivers. Works alot better than the Asus original drivers.
There is also a c-media panel version among the unixonars.

The default drivers form Asus have problem, on my last build i had BLUES screens of death when gaming tuns out it was the crappy Asus drivers, the 3rd part Xonar Unified drives use the OEM c-media drivers but, are more optimized and are reliable (no bsods). However i think Blameless is using the OEM C-media drivers that the Asus and Unified drivers are using/based on, though i'm not sure how he switches from front to rear speaker outputs.
