3770k questions

Thread Starter
I recently upgraded from a 3570k at 4.5 at 1.32 to a 3770k at 4.5 at 1.26. The difference is the i5 is about 10 cell cooler at under 80 and the i7 hovers just under 90. Is this normal?

I did a similar upgrade a while back. My 3570K ran 4.6 GHz @ 1.210 V and my 3770K is currently at 4.4 GHz @ 1.250 V. With Prime95, the 3570K would top out at 65°C on the warmest core and the 3770K would get about 72°C on the warmest core...so I saw an increase in temps as well, but my vCore is a bit higher as well. One guess is that Hyperthreading contributes to warmer temps?...although I haven't disabled HT to see if this is really the case.

Anyway, FWIW these were the temps I got. I hope this helps. smile.gif
