Hence, we want to buy, sell, make and use machines with Linux on them instead of Windows or OSX.

You are missing my point ... That those laptop companies might well charge you more than the cost of a Windows license to support having to maintain separate SKUs for that 0.01% of the population that wants to buy a laptop without Windows or OSX installed on it. If you pressure somebody like Lenovo, ASUS, MSI, etc. to do that, they'll accommodate you by taking that $35 copy of Windows out, and adding $35 to the price of the laptop as a customization charge so they can accommodate your choice.

I bought a brand new ASUS G750 and immediately formatted the Windows 8 because it wasn't the Pro edition and I needed the Pro features. We can't all be winners all of the time.

Face it, the minority sometimes has to pay for what the majority wants. Ask the 49% that lost the US election last go around about it. LOL.

I think you miss my point and I agree with Rookie,

Common sense goes a long way understanding,

manufacturing+bottom line+profit+high/consistent quality+repeat customers....

This is something corporate America and some educated dummies have forgotten.

And if I have to explain that, dont bother commenting to this comment.....
