no overclock changed at the time, it had a mild +50 core +100 memory OC before hand.But i am useing a 6 pin to 8 pin adapted but i dont see how that would make a difference with a seasonic PSU with no problem for like a month

Wow. this 7970 vs GTX 770 debate still going on? it needs to die already rolleyes.gif. as it is clear which card is faster.
If you own HD7970 it is good for you, if you own GTX 770 then it is good for you too.
But to new buyers I recommend the 7970, mainly due to the 3 GB VRAM, and from my experience 2 GB is not enough for High-res textures even at 1080 thumb.gif.

The card was still functional correct? It booted, u log in and the screen goes black? If that is correct, then the card was not dead. It could be something as simple as a registry error. A black screen upon login with a radeon is typical of mismatched registry entry or a gpu bios bug. If you sent that card in, you'll probably end up getting it back lol seeing as how that is typical too.
