Constant Dropped Connection?

Hey guys, I rearranged my room, so I unplugged my router and everything. After doing so, I plug everything back in, set it all up, now I'm getting constant connection drops from the internet when I'm using my router....

I have a WRT54G Version 2. It didn't do this before and this is pissing me off!

Anyone got some helpful Ideas? PLEASE!

Does it have a tiny hole on it somewhere?? If so unplug it and then push the reset button...Do the same on your cable router...then your pc should find a new connection..

yea that would be the best to try or just try disconnecting the power and let it sit for about a min.

You should be able to access the router by typin in the routers IP in your browser and resetting it or restoring it back to default. Or the physical way of resetting it is to pull the plug out the back and let it sit 3-5min. Both methods work on any router.

If that doesn't work it could be a bad cable. It happens.. I always try to narrow down the problem by deductive reasoning by doing things like trying the pc strait into the modem to find out if the router is the culprit.

Although lately my internet has been cutting out and this forum has been loading extremely slow. Maybe its holiday web traffic lol.. Or your isp provider just happen to be workin on their servers..

I've reset it and everything. I've not had a drop now in a while but my connection is horribly slow at like 15kb/s when its usually around 200kb/s.

Going to call my crappy ISP in the morning and raise hell just because

I'd try the PC strait to the modem and if that doesn't help yeah I'd call them too. Of course you know there going to give you some half @ss answer. I have Road Runner right now and I quit calling to complain because there customer service people are useless. When it gets horribly slow I usually have to wait a 12-24hours for it to pick up again and when I'm really mad I drag a service person out here to replace my modem.

Lol I do the same with comcast. I'm waiting for FiOS to come into my area so I can get some fiber optic action goin on here...
