Help GFX Postage Problem

Thread Starter
I don't know where to put this cuz there should be a general computers topic but anyway. I built a comp correctly and I try to start it up (All the fans are running and the parts are running the way they should) and the and it won't show graphics on the monitor (and the monitor is good trust me). Here are the links for my mobo and Ram.
Mobo: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...240&CatId=1569

RAM: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820145574

My PSU is stock; I looked at a few forums with people who had the same problem and they said there were 4 variables CPU, PSU, Mobo, and GFX Card. The gfx card's fans are running and the cpu's are too..in other word it looks like the inside of a completely error free comp.

Plz Help kk thx.

What kind of power supply are you running?

If it's just a cheap generic, there's probably your problem as that rig will suck ALOT of power, mainly for the video card.

How many amps is the PSU rated for? Specs for the 8800s call for 26A on the 12v rail.

Not to be master of the Obvious, but the PCI-Express connectors are plugged into the Video Cards right?

And dont bother using the Y splitters that come with the cards, they are worthless, you need dedicated PCI-Express dongles directly off the PSU for it to be intended to power an 8 Series.

I have an Auxillary power unit for my Video.. and it will boot and run fine if it is turned off, but will instantly reboot if I try to even LAUNCH a game without it turned on, big time power suck from these things. But I dont think that stop your boot.

But make sure those PCI-E plugs are in..

1.) to clear Cmos on your board.. disconnect the power plug between your PSU and the Wall.
2.) Wait until you see the "Standby" light go out
3.) Carefully remove the onboard Battery
4.) Move the LCR_CMOS Jumper from Pin 1-2 to pin 2-3 for 10 seconds
5.) Move jumper back to pins 1-2
6.) Replace Battery
7.) Plug PSU back in and try it.

While the PSU is unplugged hold down the power on button for 10 seconds, this resets some brands of ATX PSU's.

Good luck
