FSB:DRAM issues

Thread Starter
I can't seem to get both frequencies to match up.

I finally got my FSB to 333, to match my RAM. But then I noticed my RAM freq was going up each time I increased my FSB.

Currently:

Bus Speed: 333
RAM Timings: 5-5-5-15
vCore: 1.425
RAM Voltage: 2.0

Any ideas on how to overcome this?

Thanks
-Dave

because your ram is on a 4:5 divider, were you trying to go one ot one if so you gotta put it to that in bios then itll match your fsb

Okay. Thanks. I don't recall seeing a divider setting though. I'll dig around.

Thanks again.

it should say something like frequency setting, itll be under the advanced jumperfree settings, i think its like 3 down from the one you change to change the fsb it its the same as the p5b deluxe

Yeah, I know which one you're talking about.

I tried changing it to "DDR2-666MHz" and after I rebooted, my system crashed and was unstable. The options are very limited under that setting, the DRAM Frequency setting i think is the name.

What did you set yours as for 1:1 ?

DDR533 is the 1:1 divider.

it should be the lowest number under the auto setting, so for the 333 fsb it should be the ddr2 666 setting, thats weird that that wont work with your setup

edit: ahhh thats it 666 see your freakin out your ram maybe you should try a number with a little less history to it

DDR533 no longer shows up as an option though. That should have been the first option on the list, besides Auto. DDR533 was replaced with DDR666, or DDR* (* being twice my CPU freq. respectively).

So, I chose DDR666, formerly DDR533, and I experienced problems.

lol. Yeah, maybe so. I'll bump my fsb up one more and try 668.

no luck.

The DRAM freq. is set to Auto. So it's automatically changing it to 4:5.

Would changing RAM timings affect the frequency?

Otherwise, how much performance am I losing at 4:5 vs. 1:1?
