. If I remember correctly, most people purchase products based on the service/experience they provide.
The exact same reason why everyone is swinging off of Sony's nuts even though they were slaughtering it in 2006-2007-2008.
On this very same flipping forum, people were urinating aaaaall over Sony about their removal of Other OS being anti-consumer, they were slating Sony for trying to sue Geo-Hotz or whatever for making homebrew hacks for the PS3, they were calling Sony incompetent over the hacking thing etc and calling the end of Sony and blaaaaaaaaaaah blaaaaaaaah blaaaaaaaaah.
But in the end, nobody gives a flying damn about any of that crap because people buy consoles to play games on them. If the great experiences are there, people will buy the consoles.......this has never changed.......and it isn't going to.
Gamers give themselves faaaaaaaaaaaaar too much credit in terms of "sticking to their guns" or even deciding which guns they are going to stick to on any given day. Internet gamers also give themselves far too much importance in terms of believing that the rest of the world thinks like they do.
But sure, go ahead and boycott Xbox for the rest of your life (#never forget, amiright?), I'm sure Sony are never
going to do anything
in the future which upsets anybody
ever again because they're just that awesome, forever
I look forward to the inevitably increasingly lame comments of "still not buying one" over the next few years from people sad enough to enter xbox game/announcement threads just to whine about how they're not interested in xbox.
I also can't wait till the next time internet decides to reverse its poles and start this crap crusade all over again. (actually, I'd rather people didn't do that, but its interesting to watch)
