Meh, whatever. (when did I ask you why you bought your system? oh wait.. i didnt.. -_-)

Point made,

A 3800X2 and a 7900GTx will play any game at 1280x1024 (most common resolution) at max.

play my posts are irrelevent all you want, but I bet theres more who find them to be relevant than dont.

Your LCD TV came out of absolutely nowhere, if I had known you had a LCD TV then I would have specified, as the very mast majority of people cannot run 1600x1200.

Never said they were my tests. All of my friends have computers and we mixed and matched. Didn't really have a lot of time, but we could tell obvious performance differences...BTW. I am giving the boy my 2nd Rig tomorrow. Gonna be a fun drive...

It seems to me that you are someone who likes to feel they have the very latest technology as you seem to have practically every generation of processor since about 1998 in your sig. Its obvious to me that you think that AMD dual cores are obsolete simply because they are not the latest CPU available.

This is quite clearly bull****. I recently built a system with an old AMD TBird 1GHz and it runs windows near enough as fast loading windows and using general aps (Firefox, Messenger, Office, etc) as my main rig. I used PC3200 memory, and that helps alot. Please note that this isn't intended for gaming obviously. Its for my grandfather for email and webbrowsing.

A CPU doesn't become obsolete overnight. The AMD X2 and single cores are still very useable, and support 64 bit instruction sets. It is still a CPU with potential to unleash. Many AMD64 chips have never been implemented with 64-bit OS's, and once Vista is out and users are using a 64-bit OS, I think many will notice a difference, including when games come out supporting 64 bit instructions.

The point is, a CPU does not suddenly lag in games because there is another CPU better than it. The majority of CPU's right now aren't performing at their full potential due to the software they are running. Until this is resolved, I think people should carefully consider why they should upgrade at this volatile stage in the computing hardware and software industry.
