BF3 FPS @ 1440p (GTX 780) - Page 3

I originally wrote a whole dissertation on this, but I decided that it can ultimately be summed up by this: get the 1440p monitor first, worry about the performance afterwards, and never look back.

Much like how 1080p/1200p was the holy grail of high resolution gaming in years past, eventually GPU technology caught up. As evidenced by Fermi, and more recently Kepler, GPU's, we are now seeing trends of how 1440p is becoming easier and easier to drive with just a single GPU.

Plus, the unspoken benefits of having a larger resolution monitor for desktop productivity and usage, on top of the gaming immersion benefits, all culminate to raise your overall enjoyment to new levels.

While it is more expensive to consistently maintain ~100 fps and higher with larger resolutions, it is also infinitely more gratifying to support that experience, then to be confined to something smaller. thumb.gif(That's what she said.)

Not all of us have the anticipation of spending money on hardware, but if this was STRICTLY for BF3 and cash was an issue...

GTX 780 + 1080p 120Hz monitor would be my preference.

if not

then I don't know what to tell you.

I'm not sure if the bolded phrase was directed towards me or not, but if it was, then I think you should re-read this thread. The OP is not only anticipating spending money on hardware, but he is contemplating his options on *how* to spend the money.

Correct, I can't afford both and probably wouldn't SLI if I didn't need to. I would rather sli first if performance is going to be poor however, I like benching also another reason to sli first.
