Hey there i was just wondering this was a optimal build for gaming, but also for photoshop programs and etc. Price range from 2.5k AUS and under is fine.

I suggest you go with the newer Intel Core i7 4770K and Asrock z87 series boards. You'll have to decide what type of board you need, probably go with AsRock z87 Extreme4 or Extreme3. For graphics you should go with GTX 770 instead, it's cheaper and a tad faster than the GTX 680 since it's also newer. Also, I don't see a power supply anywhere? With 1 video card 660W would suffice, pick something that's at least Bronze certified. The rest of the specs are good to go, I like the Samsung 830 btw, good choice.

Also my personal opinion is that you don't need a dedicated sound card unless you really love your audio. The on board on the AsRock boards are already pretty good for the average user. Another opinion of mine is that you should just get an external optical drive unless you think you'll be using it often. I prefer having an external one rather than an internal one that I don't use.

Hope this helps. Cheers.

Get the cheaper and faster 770 instead of the 680.
