Help! v7 client not getting new WU

Hi there everyone

I finally set up my machine to start folding, and I've noticed a bit of a snag...

After completing a WU, the client attempts to connect to the stanford server and gets back a "HTTP_UNKOWN" response. This happens for both the smp and gpu slots. It only manages to push through maybe 1 or 2 WU's in a row before being unable to connect. It's kind of annoying because my PC is unused for about 18-20 hours a day and it spends less than half that time actually folding.

Short snapshot of the log....:
Code:
08:21:28:WU01:FS00:Connecting to assign-GPU.stanford.edu:80
08:21:28:WU00:FS01:Connecting to assign3.stanford.edu:8080
08:21:29:WARNING:WU00:FS01:Failed to get assignment from 'assign3.stanford.edu:8080': 10001: Server responded: HTTP_UNKNOWN
08:21:29:WU00:FS01:Connecting to assign4.stanford.edu:80
08:21:30:WARNING:WU01:FS00:Failed to get assignment from 'assign-GPU.stanford.edu:80': 10001: Server responded: HTTP_UNKNOWN
08:21:30:WU01:FS00:Connecting to assign-GPU.stanford.edu:8080
08:21:31:WARNING:WU00:FS01:Failed to get assignment from 'assign4.stanford.edu:80': 10001: Server responded: HTTP_UNKNOWN
08:21:31:ERROR:WU00:FS01:Exception: Could not get an assignment
08:21:31:WARNING:WU01:FS00:Failed to get assignment from 'assign-GPU.stanford.edu:8080': 10001: Server responded: HTTP_UNKNOWN
08:21:31:ERROR:WU01:FS00:Exception: Could not get an assignment

Now I've searched for any bit of info on why it's doing this and so far nothing has helped allow me to get it folding WU after WU...

Things I've done:
  • Set client-type to beta
  • Allowed connection on port 80 and 8080 in Windows Firewall
  • Port Forwarded port 80 and 8080 to my machine from the router
  • Ran tracert on assign-gpu.stanford.edu and assign3.stanford.edu, both come back clean

Now what irks me is that every now and then I can get a WU downloaded, but once its done it takes several hours (or a day) for it to get the next one...

Anyone have any idea what's wrong here?

Try setting the 'client-type' to advanced, and restart the client.  Let me know if that helps.

Advanced gives the same issue...

But I think I found the problem. It looks like my anti-virus was sporadically blocking access to the stanford server... Turning off HTTP filtering completely resolved the connection issue. Managed to allow F@H to be totally excluded from filtering and that seems to have worked. Now the machine is happily folding away at ~70-100k ppd
