Tempted to buy an Xbox 360 but.... - Page 3

If you're worried about cooling, just put the xbox in an open area and you'll be fine.

If you like GTA type games, the Godfather is loads of fun. Its extremely bloody and violent, but thats to be expected.

If you like the Need for Speed games, NFS:MW and NFS:Carbon are both great. I can't decide which I like better. I think NFS:MW might be a little better.

If you like RPG's, Oblivion is amazing! If you haven't played it for PC already, you should get it for the 360. People complaining about how great a system they need for it should have just gotten an xbox 360 instead. lol It is one of the best games I've played.

Okay...I would save up for a PS3. The 360 has nothing state of the art about it. It's just a xbox with better stats. Faster processor, better graphics, etc. The PS3 on the other hand, has a backwards compatibility with almost every PS2 and PS1 title. While the 360 has a list of xbox games that are playable on the 360. The PS3 has blu-ray. 50GB on one single layer, can you say "Big Games?!?!" The 360 wireless stuff is running on ghz, while the PS3 and the Wii have bluetooth with all of their wireless stuff, which means longer range, and won't have the probability of interfering with cordless phones (which might happen). The PS3 (60GB version) has 2, yes 2, HDMI ports for a full high-def experience. The 360, well, doesn't. The PS3 and the Wii has a fully free online mulitplayer service, while the 360 is still charging.

That's where I stand. PS3 all the way!

Its also extremely expensive and its not that special. Its good, but not worth the extra money.

I hate to argue, but what's not special about the PS3?

Now about the cost. How much does a blu-ray player cost for your home...you're looking around $1,000. The PS3 has it built in. Sony is also losing money with every PS3 that they make. IMO, it's well worth the money.

PS3 FTW!

I totally agree about the blu-ray. The HD DVD also looks great on a good HDTV also! I'd love to buy all three of them and just not have to deal with this but i dont think thats happening for awhile.

360 has a faster processor than the XBox, and 3 of them. Also, its video card is faster than the PS3.

Also, this whole Blu Ray thing is kinda a stupid argument, no offense. Blu Ray and HD DVD are just like Beta Max and VCR or Laser Disc and DVD. They are both brand new, both unproven, and only one can survive in the market. And with Microsoft fully supporting HD DVD, Blu Ray's chances don't look too great, especially with the $1000 price tag.

But does that mean the 360 has better graphics than the PS3? It's pretty close.
The PS3 has an "8-core" cell processor.
What I mean by the PS3 not being that special is that it is just slightly better than the xbox 360 in most aspects, if it is better. It has blu-ray, but that isn't helpful because nobody uses it. There is nothing that makes it really stand out from the other consoles. It doesn't have Halo (Xbox 360) or controllers that you can wave around in the air (Wii).

Its not a bad system but it isn't good enough to pay that much for.

360 FTW!!

When I play PGR 3 at my friends house i just stare at the inside and outside of the car. It looks amazing. Also Gears of war and Graw and Rainbow six vegas are very good.

GTA 4 is coming out for 360

I have always been a Nintendo fanboy, I got a Wii!!!! But day after Christmas I am getting my 360. I have spent hours comparing the PS3 and 360. They are the same price because if you add the HD DVD to the xbox $600. There is not point in arguing about Blue-ray and HD-DVD because only one will survive and wait until then to buy the HD-DVD player because the price will drop to around $100 then. Or if blue-ray becomes standard then the blue-ray players will be around $200. So wait until then. I have a ps2, gamecube, wii and a 360(in 2 days!) and Sony no longer has any "AMAZING" titles. The GTA series are coming out on Xbox the same day. Wii has Zelda(SUPER FUN) and the whole always fun Mario games. Xbox has Halo, Gears of War, and GTA. PS3 has Resistence: Fall of Man(FUN) and GTA and Final Fantasy(but I think that will be on Xbox) Guitar Hero and DDR are both on Xbox (New DDR in Jan 07 and Guitar Hero 2 in March 07) The hardware side PS3 is barely any better than the Xbox. Xbox is also making games in 1080p now (Lost Planet will be the first). The HDMI cable for Xbox will be out after the Holidays. Go with the Xbox becuase Live is the best online because of the variety of games. My friend has a Wii, PS3, and 360(LUCKY!) and he has 2 HDTV's in his basement and we hooked up the PS3(w/ HDMI) and 360(w/ componet) and played CoD3 on both (rented it for both) to see the quality and see if there is a big difference. Both are amazing, but I got to say the Xbox is almost the exact same IMO. Go with the Xbox FTW and if you do PM me with your Live gamertag. Then I can beat you in GoW
