FX-6300 + GA 78lmt-usb3 rev. 5.0 overclocking so far - Page 21

My o/c is in the image I posted set in bios by multiplier and a tiny fsb bump to 210. Voltage is 1.36 with llc set to extreme, but my temps at 4.3 are higher than yours at 4.5 lol. Maybe I should get a better case.
Ok i've just ordered a new case, fairly cheap one still but it has much better ventilation, 4 cooling fans push/pull, psu @ the bottom and cable management. Hopefully that will cool things down a bit in there as my current case has past its sell by date ( it still has the PSU at the top which is only a few cms away from the cpu cooler so that can't help). Hopefully have it all sorted by the end of the week, may be able to squeeze out 4.5ghz with better all round cooling.

Nice case. I imagine cooling won't be much of an issue anymore with the AvP Defender 300 K1. Your power supply has extra molex connectors for all of the fans, right?

Yeah got loads of spare molex connections, only my dvd drive runs a molex connector i think
post #205 of 880
btw 6300 dont bottleneck... with a 7950 at 1100 core

Direct x is seriosuly crap about 50-80 fps a ultra with drop to 40 fps 40-70% cpu usage

Mantle 70-120fps 40-70% cpu usage

gpu 100% all time with mantle and about 80-100% with direct x

That on 64 player map full i picked in the list random and tested biggrin.gif

Yes in mantle I very rarely drop below 50 fps average around 70+ at 1080p maxed out and the gpu load is 100% it looks and plays great!! With directx I only get around 50% gpu load and 40 fps some times lower which can look sluggish, but I'm running windows 7 so I think that may be the issue, I've heard u get better hardware utilisation in win 8.1 on bf4
post #207 of 880
1100 clock core seems very high on that gpu tho, I get 85c on stock settings
post #208 of 880
my 7950 get 70c on furmark at 1100 core ( Dual x boost with 925 stock clock )

Repasted with mx-4 and i have 5 120mm fan

3 artic cooling and 2 cheapo thermaltake that come with my case biggrin.gif

im more affraid of vrm heat

btw xfx cooling is not very good thumb.gif

I was gonna say you must have done something to get that to clock at 1100mhz, I'm not sure I can be bothered to mess about with new paste on the gpu.

I am getting lower temps now with my new case tho so I may try to get the cpu to 4.5 now.

What should my max temps be at 4.5?

AMD FX needs to stay under 62c while in load. When stress testing if you go a little above I see no problem as its a synthetic load that will never actually happen during normal use. if you go too much over it will throttle though.
