A fan on the rear
fan blowing onto rear of mobo to cool socket and rear of vrms
And a fan on the vrm itself
amd cooler fan blowing on to vrm cooler

Running fx-6300 on revision 6 of this board. Have a stable 4.0 overclock, I haven't even tried to go higher yet. I don't think I have enough air flow to push the voltages any higher. But the cpu with all 6 cores running at 4.0 I have never exceeded 40°. 891afa124927fe8b5f145e4928a0f39f.jpg

Nice Steamcastle! Fancy loop on the lmt? Interesting choice, I like it.

Doesn't the 6300 turbo to 4.1? You should have no problem hitting 4.3 before your vrm needs some active cooling.

I'm in for this board again on a 8320e next week and tossing it into Cuboid.

Thanks for posting smile.gif

I wanted to try out a custom loop before I go big. I absolutely love the steam castle, but find it is not very watercooling friendly. Can't complain though. I would like to add my 970 in the loop but my need for an optical drive really limits space for a radiator up top.

I would like to try a custom loop on this board too, obtaining a compact and well-performing amd system.

However a custom loop with cpu backplate could be worse for overclocking due to less airflow around Vrm area.
Tha's why a couple of times i tried to find some kind of compatible Vrm/Mosfet waterblock..

Anyone tried a similar search?

Another solution should be to find a Thermalright Hr-09 Type 2..

I doubt you will find one for this board. Might try universal blocks. You could try this though. I have noticed a pretty good drop in temps on the vrm.

Or this...
Fan on VRM and Northbridge-1

And a fan on the rear of the socket

If I had room underneath I would be all for that. That is right where me ssd's are though.

I am already using a fan to cool vrms wink.gif

I was just asking if someone figured out if there's a 100% compatible waterblock
otherwise i'll just write down very accurate measurements xD to find one

Koolance has two universal VRM blocks. Look under their cold plate products
