need opinion on the rig i am building

i am planing 2 buy a new computer and also would like to overclock it abit what i am planing to buy are

Intel CORE 2 DUO E6600/ 2.40GHz/ 4MB CACHE/ 1066FSB/ LGA775 http://www.centrecom.com.au/catalog/...ducts_id=19802

Asus P5B-DELUXE motherboard

ram G.SKILL DDR2 2GB PC-6400 (1GB x 2) F2-6400CL4D-2GBPK http://www.centrecom.com.au/catalog/...ducts_id=20497

or G.SKILL DDR2 2GB PC-5400 (1GB x 2) F2-5400PHU2-2GBLA http://www.centrecom.com.au/catalog/...1&cPath=115_23 which cost less and i can pu t more $$ in for my graphics card

im planing 2 get a ASUS EN7600GT-2DHT-256 GF7600GT-256MB, HDTV-OUT, 2XDVI-I, PCIEX http://www.centrecom.com.au/catalog/...ducts_id=18184

and if i get the better ram i will have to go with the GIGABYTE NX76T256D-RH GEF7600GT, 256MB, DDRIII, PCIEx16, DUAL-LINK DVI, SILENT-PIPE II http://www.centrecom.com.au/catalog/...ducts_id=18383


i am not planing to try 2 overclock much maybe get the cpu to 3.2 with a Zalman CNPS9700LED (Copper) CPU Cooler http://www.centrecom.com.au/catalog/...ducts_id=21368

will this do or am i heading the wrong way please give me advices thx you

ps : i am new =]

it's fine from what i can see, but why the hell spend $500 on 7600GT's? why not one 8800GTS for like $450?

Different currency my friend. Thats what I thought at first so I looked up the 8800 GTS on that website he is buying from, its almost $930.

i think you should get a e6300 or e640 then get a better gpu like a 7950gt

Thats good, or it depends on if you whant to play or not if you use your computer to play, that is not the hotest one xD....

You're are heading the correct way and a couple of other people here in this forum are getting pretty much the same set-up as you. So you're going to get more than a few tips on how to reach the overclocking speed that you want.

Stable? 400x9 is the common but then again, room temps play a big roll and I hear Australia can be hot year round, depending on where you are. Case room temps and air-flow also important. Using Artic Silver 5 is the best when using that type of HSF you have in mind. Nevertheless, I think you should buy a Tuniq Tower 120 instead, it's the best HSF for a C2D CPU or any other.

That RAM will perfectly do, I hear someone in this forum overclocked it to 450mhz (for DDR2 950) so it's good.

That's not good. There's a place that sells a 7950GT 512MB from $199 to $279. So if you're going to get a video card, consider the 7950 but pay as close to what that website says, I wouldn't consider that card in that auction.
