UPDATE: In a statement this morning, Nvidia has said that the below statement on its investor call was made in error.

"This statement was made with the intent of expressing enthusiasm for the games industry in general, and was not intended to represent specific knowledge possessed by NVIDIA," it reads. "NVIDIA does not have information on any possible PC version release of Grand Theft Auto or its availability. We deeply regret the error."

They do, they only came out with this because it wasn't supposed to be said.

My guess is they are only saying this because they are just trying to cover themselves.

Also, it isn't a repost as he is saying that Nvidia was WRONG.
In xioros defense, OP has been a member here for 3 years now and there are stickies on how news should be formatted.

On topic: "intent of expressing enthusiasm" is a really weird excuse...

What they really mean:

Quote:
"This statement was made with the intent of expressing enthusiasm for the games industry in general and to leverage the Nvidia brand as a triple-A games sponsor since we don't have any new GPUs to offer until at least next spring, not to mention AMD's forthcoming R9 series along with the next generation consoles sporting AMD GPUs, and was not intended to represent specific knowledge possessed by NVIDIA, that we do in fact have," it reads. "And so now comes the moment where we flat out lie in your face, like every big corporation or government does with the same naturality as we eat breakfast in the morning, but in the end nobody believes us because we have lied too much in the past: NVIDIA does not have information on any possible PC version release of Grand Theft Auto or its availability. We deeply regret the error we made by disclosing information that wasn't supposed to be disclosed. Sorry, Rockstar Games, we know you want to sell a bunch of games for the outdated consoles first, but hey, we need to sell our GPUs too and we are in a perilous situation."
