PSU with 4-pin ATX to fit into 8-pin on mini ITX mobo?

Thread Starter
I have 250W PSU and Mini ITX motherboard - http://www.microcenter.com/product/409389/Z77_Stinger_LGA_1155_mITX_Intel_Motherboard The CPU is 55W Intel G1610.
My PSU have one 4-pin connector only, but my motherboard have 8-pin ATX for the CPU power. Can I try using it just with the 4-pin or should I buy 4 to 8-pin extender? Will this even work?

Thanks!

UPDATE:

It worked! I used pins 1, 2, 5 and 6.

A 4-pin ATX12V connector will fit in and power an 8-pin EPS12V port. It was designed this way intentionally.

Just don't run CPUs over 90W or voltage drop will start to impact stability. And I recommend against overclocking.

Thank you guys for your quick replies. I just wanted to make sure I don't mess up the motherboard. I'm not planning to overclock anyway.
I know it will fit, I checked the pin housing shape and it's shaped to fit half of the 8-pin socket. I was reading that it have to be on pins 1, 2, 5 and 6.
I'll try tonight.
