FX-6300 4.6GHz 1.45v Multiplier and some voltage

Thread Starter
First time OC, been messing with it since last night. This morning I got it to 4.6 with only disabling turbo core and upping voltage and multiplier.

tips?

completed a burn in test at 100% 0 errors. hottest she got was like 45 c..average about 38

start there lots of good information.

Mostly want to disable all power saving features and keep you max temp under 62. Continue to up the multiplier until unstable then up the voltage on the cpu until stable. then up the multiplier again. You can use Prime95 for atleast 20 minutes to verify stability each time, then once you are finally at your max clock and voltage, you then run it for 6 hours to verify full stability. This will all depend on what cooler you are using how high you will be able to get. You should use the rig builder in the top right corner and add your rig to your signature so we can see it biggrin.gif

I recommend using hwinfo64 to monitor your temps and voltages:

Hold on, what is your cooling and ambient temperatures? That seems like an incredibly low temp for an overclocked FX processor with that voltage and speed. I suspect you are not looking at the right temperature. Go use CoreTemp and come back and say what it reports for your CPU.

Also if your just using regular intel burn test you should get the one here on page one:

http://www.overclock.net/t/1318995/official-fx-8320-fx-8350-vishera-owners-club

Under additional software on the main page there is IBT AVX. looks exactly the same but works better at finding instabilities. IBT AVX ran on very high and Prime95 if you can get both of these stable your GOOD thumb.gif
