[ESCAPIST] Xbox One Will Launch In Just 13 Countries - Page 4

I'm wondering if this launches in Ireland...
Considering that the term 'UK' doesn't include most of Ireland.

We'll see rolleyes.gif

I agree with you as far as that's what I would want if I were in one of those countries. But if it were to happen we would see an influx of articles about how the Xbox One is a bust in certain countries and how Microsoft should plan better and have their device functioning at launch.

There are enough specialized retailers in many of the affected countries to launch a new console. These are the ones forced to import consoles and games if they can't get them from Microsoft. These are also the ones capable of telling every customer what will work on day 1 and what won't.

You're assuming people prefer to wait up to 5 months rather than dealing with limited Kinect support. The marketplace could be an issue, but they could redirect people to a nearby country for the time being (EA's Origin does this as well).

Your also assuming these specialized retailers would tell the truth about the product being sold, instead of shoveling off hundreds of units to the uninformed consumer in the interest of profit. Than causing an influx of Microsoft hate because they purchased a console that doesn’t work/deliver. Although I partially agree with what your saying.

If a retailer deceives you, you can get your money back. They would lose money, destroy their own reputation and not get products from Microsoft anymore.

You seem to be missing the point.

Reasonable people like you and I would be fine with getting it if everything worked and a patch was coming out for Kinect later because it would allow us to play next gen games on the next gen console now instead of waiting.

But like I said earlier, the masses are NOT reasonable. They don't listen to reason or take everything into account. You have over 500 posts here so I assume you've read some of the articles in the news sections. There are PLENTY of members here that go into news threads and just type outright crap. Some members will try to reason with them but their opinion is right and nothing else matters. These people don't make up the majority, but they do scream louder than anybody else and like to kick up trouble.

Now given those 2 types of people (the reasonable and the unreasonable,) which one do you think is more vocal about things and puts up more blogs than anybody else? I can tell you it's not the person sitting comfortably on their couch enjoying their new gaming system, but the one that is just there to ***** even though they don't own the particular system they're *****ing about.

What you said here partially makes sense to me.

While I don't think it should be launched by microsoft in these countries. If it were imported by specialized retailers then Microsoft would have a pretty solid rebuttal to any backlash. They would be able to say "We never even launched the console in that country so it's not going to work right."
