HG281D Warmup issues?

Hey guys,

For a few months now I've been having issues with my HG281D. After a few years of perfect performance, the monitor has started this odd thing where it turns on fine, but after a few seconds the display turns off. The power is still on, but there is no picture. I can also get the monitor to display its menu while there's no picture. Turning it off and back on brings back the display, but it turns itself off again. This usually happens 2-5 times, then finally works correctly the duration of the session (though turning it off or letting it enter standby will reset the process).

A couple months ago, the HDMI completely refused to display at all, so I swapped to VGA, which had been performing well... until it started doing the same thing. I figure this means it has to be something with the input, but I have no idea what to do. Any ideas?

Thanks

(Graphics card is GTX 580)

Hey Chambz,

Monitors can have such a wide variety of issues and ways to fix them. From what you have said above, it seems it might just be a faulty monitor or faulty pins or connectors or the whole monitor might just need to get replaced.

Do you have the warranty and/or are you able to get a refund/replacement from Hans? (I think that's the company)
Also, some monitors have drivers. (its odd, I know) Have you check if it has any/are up to date?

EDIT:
After a few minutes of googling your problem (not so hard man), it seems like a LOT of those monitors have issues with it's logic card. I suggest getting a refund and get a dell or Acer monitor.

Best of luck thumb.gif

Thanks, Pips,

I did google this back when it first started, but I never really got anywhere. I bought the monitor about 3 to 4 years ago, so I don't know if there's any chance of refund/replacement, but I will look into that more. I also don't think there were any drivers, it seemed pretty minimal. I'll see what I can find. Just wasn't sure if anyone knew if this was a known issue (apparently it is) or if there was a fix (guess not). Thanks again.
