Sad thing is the console version pretty much sounds like what I wanted all along. No nerfed drop rates for having to account for the AH inflation and offline mode available. Weird how that works rolleyes.gif

My first night playing the game was five minutes and a d/c

Error 37.
Then there was error 73. Then there were almost fifty other different errors we encountered with friends. I was happy that I was able to log in only 40 minutes after the game officially launched. wheee.gif And I was already in Nightmare in the next morning.

Funny story: A friend of mine who was joking that 'he got the crap DVD' when I got them from the booth actually couldn't install the game (and his digital download stopped at 99% because of the last couple of hundred KBs - you know, the realmlist information but he wasn't aware of that) so he totally flipped out, almost cried (and he was 22 rolleyes.gif), and came to my place to get my game DVD. Tried - didn't work either. Eventually, he ran once more to my place (about 5 mins jogging distance) @ half past one to get my DVD-ROM biggrin.gif

RMAH won't be removed. It's a good incentive to keep them patching the game honestly.

they are going to "fix" itemization=they will make changes. are they going to change it to actually allow unique builds and more horizontal diversity? i seriously doubt it, as they could have done this so long ago

i cant imagine changing itemization would be too easy when 100% of the playerbase is already geared.

It would require not only adjusting numbers and adjustments on current items.

it would affect class balance heavily, which would require balancing each character all over again.

Not only that, actual PVE interaction would be affected as well and would most likely need attention as we..

Changing itemization to offer the a deeper gameplay experience is more daunting than you would think. It would definitely be more suitable in the case of an expansion when players will be forced to shed gear and earn levels.

I am not trying to defend the devs, but i can see how it would be a huge undertaking......especially considering what kind of backlash they would suffer from breaking class builds and making items people paid $250+ for completely useless.

I still have really high hopes for D3 and an expansion, but I would love real news on what the expansion 'may' be. Do we have news on when expansion news will be revealed?

I'm seriously considering reinstalling and playing some more... but only after I beat Assassin's Creed 3. I split my time enough between games that I need to uninstall one to make room lol.

they've done it before, like with the IAS nerf way back when that had darn near everyone in a severe loss of dps and inability to run their old builds any longer. they did it somewhat to the cm wizzes who had to re-boost some of their stats and change some things around to even try to do the build any longer. they did the bigger patch more recently that reworked a lot of the legendaries to be a LOT better, and the stats on a lot of the items to have a chance to be a LOT better. it didn't make the current items worse, but the new ones better. adding in the monster powers made the old ways of playing and the old gear next to worthless if you wanted to run the higher levels. a good portion of the current builds out now are considered by the devs to be not the way the game was meant to be played (cm wiz, ww/wotb barb, archon) so it doesn't seem too big of a stretch to think that somewhere in the future there will be a big change of items and/or builds, especially characters that would be 'upgraded' to expansion status.

i know it is at this point, which is specifically why i said i would doubt it was going to happen. turns out when you start out with a piss poor system, it's hard to change down the line
