What I'd say is that you must remember that by utillizing dual channel mode, you are DOUBLING the memory bandwidth (from the common 64bit to 128bit), that alone says alot.

My guess is that you will probably get higher FramesPSs in games ect, for example with dual channel enabled, but if you're one that run a lot of programs/ VERY resource demanding programs (such as video editing apps ect) then the 1.5GB option would be the way to go.

In short I think the Dual channel route will definatly be faster... but, 1.5G is.... well, more memory lol.

You need to explain your RAM setup better though... do you have (4 RAM slots) 2 sticks of 1GB, and now you're wanting to add 2 sticks of 256?

IN that case.. why dont you use the 2 sticks of 256 in dual channel, and the others in single channel?

Dont use SuperPi to test. Use real world tests like if you have counterstrike source, the stress test would be good. BF2/FEAR load times etc. 3DMark would be better than SuperPi even. SuperPi will show better results with the dual channel most likely, but that isn't real world performance.

I have try aroud putting my rams in different ram slots but i only got singel chanel (cpu-z says that). I have look at my mobos manual but i dont anderstand look here: http://www.elhvb.com/mboards/OEM/HP/...per_manual.pdf
