i7 920 Temp is high

Hello.
I have new cpu/mobo they are i7 920 and Asus P6T SE and i don't like temps on stock frequency Idle Temp is 40C-43C, in street test linX it goes to 74C, than i make some little Overcloack till 3.36Ghz voltage auto and in street test again with Linx it goes to 84C CPU revision is D0 i read some threads about 920 and i think it's high temps for stock and for so little overcloack . My Cooler is Thermolab baram 2010 + 2x Fans but some low quality thermal grase...Before i had amd 955BE and max temp was 63 with some small overcloack..What can be reason for the high temps ?

AMD CPUs are nothing like Intel CPUs. Thats about average for a Bloomfield (I have a 960). If you wanna try and get lower temps, then buy some new thermal paste, but otherwise your temps are fine.

Yes get some MX4 thermal paste or equivalent.
Temps seem about right, and of course with a small overclock at Auto Vcore your puching tons of Vcore producing silly temps.
My i7 920 ran 1.31v 4Ghz max temp 75*c with a Venomous X (1xPanaflo 120x38mm fan) and MX2 paste.

When i make overcloack it's better to set voltage manually or keep it auto ?

Manually is best, please read some of the i7 290 guides, there's tons of them.

Auto Vcore raises Vcore way beyond what will be required for a particular clock, hence it increases temps substantially.

Manually of course. Just set a high but safe value first and then start going a voltage step back while testing for stability.

Also, you might want to disable HT (4 virtual cores), will take about 10c off load temps and also will lower voltage requirements for the same clock. Higher clocked 920 without HT is better than lower clocked one with HT. HT is not that useful anyways, unless you use software than can load all 8 cores like encoding.

Replace your heatsink it cant handle that amount of heat which is your case?
