Used to have HDD Health, Now I have HD Tune Pro 5, Have Some Questions

Thread Starter
I have a 80GB intel SSD and a 1TB Samsung SATA HDD
1. In HDD Health just one simple bar that rated the health of my drives (which I was monitoring to know when I needed to get new ones so I wouldn't risk losing data). Now there is tons of info on the health page, in addition to benchmarks and some other stuff. Is there any way to get a simple answer as to how long my drives have left?

2. The only Warning on any of part of the health section of the either drives is on my SSD. For "Reallocated Sector Count" it says 24 sectors have been damaged and replaced. Is that a lot? What exactly does that mean?

Thanks!

Get Hard Disk Sentinel if you are going to be monitoring your disks. Each disk is given an overview page that will allow you to take a look at the health of that disk "at a glance" so no more trying to figure out what ambiguous numbers mean.

What it means is that twenty four physical sectors on the drive have failed to either read or write (its typically write for SSDs), and as such is marked by the drive controller that it is no longer useable. When this happens, sectors in a "spare area" are employed to perform the function of the failed areas. On SSDs, this causes a negligible performance loss, but on a mechanical drive, the extra movement the read/write arm has to make can noticeably slow things down especially if there are alot of failed sectors.
Now, in terms of what it means for your SSD: Your drive is either old, using a bad controller, or you are doing an excessive number of writes to it. get Hard Disk Sentinel and post a couple of screenshots so i can see for myself which one it is.
