Is Prolimatech Megahalems still relevant? - Page 2

Megahalems has good looks and good cooling. Can't ask for much more. thumb.gif

Megahalems i still a great cooler, and my first choice when air cooling. In fact I recently replaced a SIlver Arrow with a Megahalems. It is much easier to install, does not (necessarily) block RAM slots, allows a wide range of fan choices, and is still within a few degrees of the top coolers.

Intel CPUs haven't changed much since the 775 days in terms of how they are cooled. The mounting holes are different, but that's about it.

Basically, a good CPU cooler will always be a good CPU cooler until the technology changes dramatically.

I've got the Megahalems Black Series with a pair of SP120 PWM fans and it does a fine job keeping my CPU cool. Prime95 Small FFT gets my warmest core to about 75°C max. thumb.gif

Seems kind of band-wagon like but the Megahalems should have no trouble unless you're going for extreme overclocks (1.4V+).
