G1.Sniper M3 + 3570k suddenly unable to overclock?

Okay... so this is driving me absolutely nuts right now. I have had this motherboard and CPU combo for several months, running the CPU at 4.2ghz with a -0.005V offset. Worked great. Earlier this week I ended up using the integrated HD 4000 for a few days until my new card arrived, and I had reset the BIOS settings to stock during that time.

Now, today I tried to put the CPU back to where it was and apply the XMP profile to my RAM. The RAM worked fine, but the CPU absolutely refuses to overclock. The settings save properly so I can see them in BIOS, but in windows it runs at stock all the time. Nothing else changed about this setup at all, so I'm not sure what went wrong. I tried flashing back to F9 and the same thing happens, going back to F10c which I had been using and the result is still the same. Nothing I do seems to be able to make this work, my chip is acting like it is a locked 3570 now.

Anyone have an idea?

Can you try the latest beta from here?

Settings got stuck with some BIOS versions, but BIOS reflash usually helped. Not sure why it doesn't work for you. Also try to clean CMOS if you haven't already.

I did clear CMOS, I even unplugged, removed battery, and put the jumper on for 30 minutes. No dice. F10f doesn't do it either. I think the board and/or BIOS chip might be bad.

What if you flip the BIOS switch?

Also did you disable turbo or set them to be the same as the main multiplier?

I don't have a switch, and it does not respond to any CPU settings redface.gif

Well, I seem to have solved it. The board does not like having the sound card moved to the x8 slot, it has to be in the x4 slot otherwise everything gets out of whack.
