Rig:

CPU: i5 2500k
GPU: GTX 780 sc acx SLI
MOBO: GIGABYTE GA-Z77X-UD5H
PSU: Corsair TX750
RAM: G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB and 2 samsung 2gb each ram for a total of 12 gb.

I am also using a pci express wireless card which is plugged into my 4x slot

When I overclock the cpu my fps actually goes down. I disable sli in NVIDIA control panel and the fps I get in games are still really similar, but in some games the fps goes higher when i enable sli (sleeping dogs)

Here are some pictures giving you guys a picture of what is going on. I don't know what to do. I'm gaming at 1080p and was expecting to get a constant 60 fps with everything maxed out in games like ac3, sleeping dogs, batman arkham city, battlfield 3, but infact my fps drops down to 50's and 40's and it does not seem that much of a difference from my old single gtx 590. I've spent alot of hard earned money on this rig, but I don't know *** to do now.

I ran the benchmark on arkham city and my average fps is 51. I'm running the game at 1080p with everything maxed out inlcuding 8x AA, physx all that. I was getting around 40 fps for my GTX 590, shouldnt 2 780s especially superclocked be way faster?

here is an image from afterburner for for ac3 in boston

I'm using driver 320.49. I overclock my CPU and it causes the fps to go down, i disable sli in control panel and i'm still getting around the same fps in some games, and actually more frames in some games.
Metro last light will hit your cards hard,i got about 60-90 fps when playing that game on 1080p with ultra settigs, and in batman i got some really bad fps also not to mention bf3 in multi-player 64 player maps sometimes i will be running @ 120-170 fps next sec in in my low 70's....Most of these games arent optimised properly and they arent being updated properly either....

if your running stock CPU clock im pretty sure you are going to see a bottlneck running sli, (why you might see that 1 card performs just as good as sli)
what is you're 2500k oc'd to

Getting 40 fps on a 64player BF3 map is purely CPU limited. Its one of those rare cases, but you are indeed CPU limited. Even a 64 player map will bring even a 6 core to its knees. Its just one of those extremely demanding parts of gaming. The FPS you are getting in BF3 is pretty much par for the course.

However, that Metro Last Light benchmark is odd, and you shouldn't be getting that sort of FPS on it.

Post a picture of your rig.

I see heat being mentioned, but it is worth elaborating here. With GPU Boost 2.0 and the stock 780 BIOS, the cards will throttle the clockspeeds down when you hit temps of 80C; the higher the temps, the more the throttling. While your motherboard does give you an extra slot to allow your cards to breathe, if your case does not have good airflow to expel the excess heat, then that could be your problem.

Try to take off the side panel and aim a fan at the cards to see if your performance improves.

My 2600k on BF3 would push get pushed to 60-70% usage when I had two 7970s @ 1200/1650, I wouldn't have a hard time seeing a 2500k bottleneck depending on your CPU OC and your GPU OC. I don't have Metro so I can't comment about that. I would wonder if your RAM/ CPU OCs are stable if you're overclocking and your performance is going down.

my temps are fine, the temp never goes above 55 degrees for me. I have a nice fractal case with great airflow.

I just formated my pc and updated my bios and installed the chip drivers. I'm going to test now

i havent overclocked my cpu, but when i did try all i did was make all 4 cores under the boost clock up to 44. I didn't change anything else. The fps went down. So idk?

Because it isn't stable. Use intelburntest for a few hours, if you crash increase vcore. Maybe you can try making a custom resolution profile in nvidia control panel such as 2560x1440 and check your gpu loads. 1080p seems to be more cpu intensive than 1440p.
