i found some results , not hand picked either as the name/id were chronological order , all i did was change the CPU score in a descending order

the cpu benchmark : integer math , floating point math , prime numbers , Extended instructions (sse) , compression , encryption , physics , sorting , single thread

can see in pictures that no i5k comes close and an i7 has to overclock greater than my 8350 to get a higher score otherwise it falls short

the 8350 is a great cpu and we can see even at stock speeds it beats all i5's and some i7's

single thread is not its strong point but who will ever go into bios and disable all but 1 core and then web brows, game , encode video ,benchmark, or anything like that ? no one because apart from single thread benchmarks we get more out of our pc's with all cores enabled smile.gif

---- 1 intel core is not twice as good as an 2 amd cores ( i5 vs 8350 ) therefor 4 intel cores are not better than 8 amd cores. simple math smile.gif

as for games, well i have watched task manager on a second screen while gaming - bf3 , crysis 3 , skyrim , arma2 , farcry 2 n a few more and it easily handles games. every 2nd core puts along at 0-10% and every other core from 20% - 40%. This cpu barely breaks a sweat running today's games with a single 7970 so when prices drop I'll be putting in another 7970 for a crossfire set up

I have an ax850 with just an ssd , usb 2.5 inch hdd , stock corsair carbide 500r case fans , 4x4 ram and h100 so it will handle the power requirements

The case, psu, ram, h100, ssd and usb hdd are from my last 4100 /6870 crossfire set up which now sit in a cupboard. the 4100 at 5ghz kept up with stock i5

is there a benchmark my 8350 doesn't win against an i5k ? or even some i7k ? clock for clock the 8350 is so under rated

my pc has 'c' states and all types of power saving goodness . an intel needs more power when it is clocked higher to the same clock speeds i use (If the intel can clock that high on just a h100 at all), but with an amd we can underclock it to 2.5ghz easily matching an intel i5/7 for 'energy saving goodness' ( go play angry birds)

also the pc doesn't have to be stable for 24/48 hours at 5ghz or more for it to be usable ( although i might show that 5ghz stable in a prime etc is fine probably) . I bench at 5ghz and it works , every other time im on 4.5ghz when i game, web brows, light editing etc and it works smile.gif

hmm so yeah lol now I wait to get intel fan slapped or banned for showing how much better an 8350 is than an i5 /i7

IF anyone wants to show benchmarks of THEIR system with valid links, please do , i'll check out the stock and overclock percentages

that shows the cpu score top- bottom of 'as they happen' results , explained above . my cpu score is in sig 11,597.
