[Infinity Ward] PC Call of Duty Will Look Better Than Next-Gen One - Page 5

They should just rename it to Call of Doodoo. Sure it's going to look better on the PC, but we'll still be looking at poop.

I miss the WW2 based games, when the game felt like "Call of Duty".

IMO next COD should use Cryengine 3.
That's going to happen...about never. People need their crisp 60 fps all day long, even when some dude comes at you commando knifing and 1000 explosions happen right behind him (hellooooo hacked servers from MW2)

Honestly PC versions of CoD have almost always looked better than their console counterparts. The problem is that the differences are sometimes rather minute, and you'd have to look for the differences to really notice. It's a fair bit more subtle than say the ports of either Crysis (2) or Battlefield 3. As nice as it would be for them to really step it up and make it blow away even the next gen console, I'm of the belief that the difference in quality will be similar to past CoD's.

Besides, we don't really know how wide the gulf between the next gen consoles and our higher end rigs will play out in development (yes we all know the differences spec wise). At least for this year, I think the gulf between consoles and PC's will be much diminished (have you seen Killzone?)

Why are there so many haters who say "I stopped caring about cod since *insert year or cod number* "
And yet, you end up posting in EVERY SINGLE THREAD about CoD.

if you really don't care than why bother to take the time to care enough to post about it?

As for the game, I love it, It never tries to be more than what it is, mindless incredibly fun and responsive shooter. I enjoy playing it when I want to kill a few hours, or when I have a group of friends on and we end up trolling by trying to knife only in an SnD map.

If the game gets high res textures and a few other eye candy features that only the PC can run, I am all for it.

As for the Dedicated servers, with the new features they introduced with squad wars and clan wars, I just can't possibly see them having dedicated servers as that would make it almost impossible to upkeep with out people being able to exploit it on the server side.

The best thing I can see them do is, counter strike: global offense style, where you have servers for the ranked and the official features, and than on top of it if you WANT TO, you can search the community dedicated servers. Which honestly I think is probably the best idea ever made when it comes to FPS.

Anyways, I am looking forward to the game.

Wouldn't be too hard to make it look better on PC as it usually looks bad on console.
