Shortly after posting the comments, Lowrie removed them, saying they "just seemed to cause a whole bunch of confusion and when I tried to minimize the confusion I misspoke and caused a whole bunch more confusion... Sorry that I gave the impression that I know what’s going on. I really wasn’t trying to and I really don’t know."
This is what really matters.
Also, this isn't the first time Lowrie has acted as Valve's troll ambassador, so it doesn't surprise me. If Merle Dandridge was talking about it, then I would lend it some more thought, but anyway, he ends up saying he doesn't know anything, so it confirms my suspicion that this is just Valve trolling again.
As to the motion capture talk I don't quite understand where he's getting at: it's great for movies and cutscenes, but unless you have a character that repeats the same action in the exact same manner, motion capture isn't much helpful except for extracting the naturalness of human movement and then applying that knowledge into making the character's available movements and connect it to the A.I. Strict motion capture alone isn't much helpful, but then again, he didn't elaborate, so who knows if this was just an excuse to start the trolling conversation.Edited by tpi2007 - 8/16/13 at 10:24am
