Finding Physical Disk on ZFS array

Heres the scenario:

You have a bad disk in your pool doing a "zpool status" you identify the disk and find that one is faulty with errors. I have a 20 bay Norco case with 16 drives. Here is the problem, How do you find the physical disk to pull? my first instinct was to do a DD read/write to the specific disk under /dev/dsk to see activity light and know which disk it is physically on the box, but it seems it wont let me write to it. Any ideas or thoughts( I feel like this will be a simple solution and I'm just missing something)?

@OP

Either do a read operation with dd, or use hdparm -tT (if that command is available on Solaris). smile.gif

Seems like doing DD to /dev/rdsk/(device name) seems to work,

I'm confused here. zfs status tells you which disk has failed, why are you wanted to run a dd to find it?

[edit]
oh hang on, the penny has just dropped. You're wanting to light up the LED on your case. doh
