Theres a video of me increasing the RPM of BOTH the Scythe Gentle typhoon 1850 fans. One of them has this annoying sound, so i think it's gone bad.

Have yet to decide which fans to buy...

a surprisingly good and cheap fan, are the xspc xinruilian 1650 rpm 120mm fans. I have about 20 of them from an all xspc watercool set up i did a while ago, They move an insane amount of air while having a high static pressure, individually the fans are actually pretty silent, but when you get about 20 in a smaller case like i had it sounds like a swarm of angry bees tongue.gif they retail anywhere between 7 to 9 bucks depending on where you get them, they have 40cm premium black sleeved cables, which are the longest presleeved fan cables ive seen to date. And the sleeving on them actually looks pretty good, feels high quality...unlike phobya sleeve jobs on their products.

just a heads up if you want to check them out, for an H80i youll be using two fans yeah? the xspc fans would be inaudible and move an insane amount of air through it.

Your best bets are GT-AP15/Cougar Vortex/Noiseblocker Multi-frame/Eloops. All of those listed undervolt (or run) in a more silent manner than the SP120s, are generally the same price or cheaper than the SP120s, and have the best CFM/noise.

Only go the SP120s if you want the Corsair brand and nothing else. Otherwise, they are pretty lackluster compared to what is on the market.

Those Noiseblockers seem to be about $25-$30 per fan---you can get a two pack of SP120s for that price.

All the fans posted here are damn good ones but I have to vote for AP-15's . With a good fan controller you turn them down to 450 rpms and you still get great cooling with almost no noise :thumb:i
