Yay I got a P180b - Page 3

It's always fun to get a new box. they are all beautiful fro the first little while--until you get bored.

The p180 gets good marks in the reviews and i have seen one and it does look sleek and pro. Be sure to ask Chozbot about the minor modifications he made to improve cooling.

I would not be using TT Thunderblade fans in that case rheobus or no--you will then have another noisy case.

The most excellent fan at this time is prolly the Scythe FDB--they come in three speed ranges. I just put those in a CM Stacker 830 and they are inaudible.

Maybe you got dodgy fans??
It's not quiet, either. Mine's been driving me nuts, a fan is rattleing, but I can't figure out which one.

I keep hearing my stupid HDD spin up the most of the time as its in the rear cage. I mean the airflow is great but I will sacrafice a few C's for a much quieter case.

Well I got everything installed in the new case today. Gotta say yes its a PITA to get the wires right, however I do have a modular PSU so it helped a lot. The case is flimsy not in a bad way but in a solid way hard to explain. The doors feel like rubber more then a metal so they absorb well. And to be honest if I had to do it over again I would get the P180B over the Armor any day of the week, this is the case I have always wanted.

Also I was going to take pics however there are no LED fans in this case to light up the area for my PDA camera. Maybe I will get ahold of a digi or something.

Also great news is everything started up on the first power on. Secret to that for all you new guys/girls switching cases is check everything two to three times even your screws check it all. Another thing the case weighs more then my armor did lol.

And lastly for any of you who have this case with a Silverstone fan, how did you affix this drive rails to the fan controller? They dont size up right on it so I cant get it on there the controller just sits in there loosey goosey.

Why doublestick foam tape of course...it is not permanent by any means so you have the option of removing the plate later when you go for the internal Watercoolong setup (LMAO)

Nice job with the P180B. I have a Aerogate II and it fits perfectly, and matches the case very well. You can get them on the cheap at Fry's or online, and they actually fit the drive rails pretty well.

If you are looking for more inspiration regarding cable management, here are a few shots of people's rigs that I have found across the net:

Have fun man! I am almost ready to migrate from the *dun dun dun* Dell XPS to the P180B. I got the case, a new 750W Silverstone modular PSU, and a P5W-DH to plop into it. Hopefully, with my 2x120mm rad in back via radbox, I can have a setup almost as nice as Zero3d's at SilentPCReview.

Again, good luck to everyone with this case, its heavy, but quality, I believe. With some real thinking, it can turn out to be the one of the cleanest, classiest cases around.
