Should I get a QNIX QX2710

Thread Starter
I am looking to get a QX2710 monitor. It will be ran by a laptop through HDMI @ 30hz. I will be building a PC around Christmas time with some actual power smile.gif. I will be using it for a mostly static webpage. I will not be gaming at all on it. Since this monitor has no scalar is it possible to display 1080 or 720 resolutions on it at all? I would eventually like to be able to use a chromecast on it as well. Setting the output resolution @ 720 on the chromecast should be able to work since it is just double to 1440. Can this monitor even display 30hz?

Worth it to get a perfect pixel?
Are these really PLS?

thanks so much! This is my first post.

I think they are a good monitor for the price. I personally liked it so much I bought 2 more for a total of 3.

Check out Green-Sum, they are cheaper.

This is the wrong monitor for you. It won't take HDMI in, it won't run 1080p, it won't take the Chromecast's audio. You need a real graphics card with DVI output to run this monitor. It would be much better suited to your future computer, but for the laptop and Chromecast it's the wrong device.

I predict headaches.

The Chromecast will more than likely not work at all.
Your HDMI -> DVI at 30hz might, but you'll need to have a discrete card (I'm trying to get DP->SL-DVI, and apparently Intel's graphics driver isn't very cooperative). If you really need HDMI compatibility, save the trouble and get a multi-input version.

I ended up deciding to build a "real" PC. I am the biggest hater of laptops you will ever find. I ended up getting a 2560x1440 monitor with displayport, vga, and dual link DVI. The total cost was $254.83.
Thanks you all for your help! If anyone wants a review, or pictures or anything let me know!

Which one did you get? Good price for a 27" panel with more than the duallink dvi input.
