New Build

Hi guys, i'll build a "new" computer but, i don't choose yet the platform 1155, 1150 or 2011, many recommend me haswell but, i don't like it so much, i hear isn't much overclockeable. I want a durable platform, do not have to upgrade in a year and a half or two. The principal use is for games, but too i'll use adobe and autodesk suite.
What do you recommend?

- 3820+MSI X79A-GD45 (4 dims version)
- 3770K+MSI Z77A-GD65 Gaming Edition
- 4670K+MSI Z87A-GD65 Gaming Edition

All combos cost the same in my country (i'm mexican)
Thanks.

4770k + asus maximus VI hero is a great combo.

Haswell doesnt overclock well? ask my 4770k that does 5.2ghz stable if he agrees tongue.gif

If you are set on the MSI boards, i own a msi z87 gd65 gaming board, it is a wonderful board, but i still prefer the Hero over it.

either way you cant go wrong. The 4670k is a good alternative also, but with the advent of games being optimized for multi threads/more cores, i would have to strongly suggest the 4770k or even a 3930k/4930k if your budget allows. But for straight up gaming currently, the Haswell is king (except in a few situations where 6 cores/12 threads reign supreme.

for average users that CAN resist the urge to upgrade just because its a 1-2 fps increase, the 4770k should last you a few years maybe more. For the rest of us who have to absolutely upgrade every single time a new product comes out, our wallets will continue to hate us frown.gif
