windows 8 wont install

Thread Starter
I recently put together a new desktop and last night I tried installing windows 8 64 bit. It gets past the bios but then it stops at the windows logo screen. The DVD drive goes crazy but it doesn't try to install windows. I've disable all the USB options, I've removed and tried the ram one at a time in different slots. I have no idea what else to do. The computer specs are Asus maximus vi formula. I7 4770k, Samsung 840 pro ssd, wd velociraptor, Asus gtx 780, gskill trident ram, and a sea sonic platinum 860 psu. Please help

If you burned the Windows 8 disc yourself, perhaps the download was corrupted.  I downloaded Windows 8 Preview 6 times in a row, and got a different (and bad) version each time.  I ended up piecing a good version together manually by comparing the differences between three of them.

If you bought a physical copy of the disc, then this doesn't apply to you—ignore. wink.gif

Have you tried a different DVD drive or installing from USB?

Seems you may need to wipe or 'secure erase' the ssd

Figured it out, windows couldn't load the asm1061 drivers so it kept it in a boot loop. And one of the ram sticks were bad.
