the top entry is a Quadfire 7990....but no way in hell could they get those 7990's to that level of performance without water cooling. Otherwise, he'd have 150C GPU's melting on in his PCI lanes

OP with a HD 7950 at 1175 Mhz you are already rocking some serious performance. I suggest you wait till HD 9950 launch and check out the performance and OC headroom of HD 9950. there was a 3DMark 2013 benchmark screenshot doing the rounds on ocn and web. could be fake. . you won't know the facts till launch.

http://wccftech.com/amd-hawaii-gpu-performance-exposed-3dmark-faster-gtx-titan/

but the GPU score of HD 9970 was 40% more than HD 7970 Ghz. if that is real then HD 9950 would end up roughly 20 - 25% faster than HD 7970 Ghz. also the Hawaii chip is 28nm and massive so it will be clocked lower (925 - 975 mhz) and have more OC headroom. so if anything with OC the perf gap will widen. also the HD 9900 cards are going to most definitely be bundled with BF4. sep 25th press event. early - mid Oct launch. be patient. thumb.gif

I want to be as patient as possible and I really want to wait. Only thing I'm concerned about is being able to score the exact (his iceqX2) 7950 I need after 9 series is released. I've waited to crossfire before only to find the same card I was gonna buy 3 months ago is out of stock and discontinued.
