on my g400 i didn't even tape as close as possible to the "eye" because the LOD would be too low for me on a black cloth pad.
then I guess I'm gonna tape the kana v2 when my friend came bacl biggrin.gif, can you use any kind of tape?

Many BIOS I have tested will allocate resources like IRQ in different ways each time you redo the settings from scratch, then after redoing them, you'll notice your mouse will behave slightly different, even when using the exact same settings (assuming you had all the right ones chosen in the first place).
This does not work since A.C.P.I. is used on most modern Windows (XP+?). I wish that I could!

Dont forget that Takasta's Kana v2 is not the final version.
LOD can still be fixed since the official product annoncement

Negative. Takasta has a retail product.

Even in all black cloth pads there is a difference in LOD with different pads.
I noticed it with testing my Savu on different pads I own.

The lowest LOD I got with my artisan shiden kai (white, with glas fibers in it).

But when testing on my black pads the lowest lod I would get with my worn out qck+ where the cm storm battlepad would give me slighter higher lod but that pad was not used so much and is more shiny and reflects light better and tighter woven.

With my earlier mice like the cm storm spawn the Artisan shiden kai (white) lowerd the LOD aswell very good.

But its weird if you think about seing that with a tape trick you dimm the light wich results in lower LOD and sometimes lower max malfunction speeds.
But using a white surface with glas fibers wich reflects light crazy give aswell lower LOD.

So best is to test youre mouse on a pad you order and else send it back.
Every mouse LOD could be slightly different aswell as the pad can change the LOD for good or worse.

There is one surface I want to test still and that is the orange surface from Artisan.

it has to be non-transparent tape.
i suggest parcel tape(something like this: http://www.toolstation.com/shop/Adhesives+Sealants/Tapes/Packing+Tape+48mm+x+66m/d180/sd2420/p82213) as it is very thin and doesn't scrape on the mousepad.

electrical tape is available in black of course, but that might scrape on the mousepad due to its thickness.

Will not scrape. I have it on my Kana v1 and it works fine.
