Thanks

for that one you're going to need a

"Slimline SATA to SATA with LP4 Power Cable Adapter"

I don't have a lead from the power supply that will plug into that white connector. I was going to use a Y-lead SATA from the hard drives SATA power supply?

Thanks

Can I just use this...

http://uk.startech.com/Cables/Computer-Power/Internal/6inch-SATA-to-LP4-Power-Cable-Adapter-Female-to-Male~LP4SATAFM6IN

So I have 1 SATA lead from the power supply, which I will attach a SATA Y-lead. One end of the Y-lead will go to the hard drive, the other will fit into the adapter in the link. The LP4 connector on the adapter will fit into the LP4 connector in the picture you posted then the whole lot fits into the back of the DVD drive. If you followed that, would it work?

Thanks

Ok, let me put it simpler ... lol ....

The DVD drive you bough has a non-standard power-sata connection (typically used on laptops)

You can use it like this but diregard the picture i posted since it appears your PC does not have that
kind of power connectors (white molex)

So you need to get the power off the Y-lead from your hard drive, and then plug it into the second
connector

www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16812400156

then that one should plug without any issues right into the DVD drive. biggrin.gif
