Cant get into the BIOS

Thread Starter
I have finished assembling my PC (see Sig) and booted up installed eveything I need and then it was taking ages to boot to windows. So i turned on Ultra Fast boot from the Gigabyte BIOS, great now it boots into windows quickly. But... Now when I power on the machine i get the gigabyte splash screen with the press del to enter BIOS it wont register that I am pressing the key. Have tried this on both a usb keyboard and my old PS/2 one too. How do I get into the BIOS? Motherboard is a Gigabyte GA-Z87-HD3.

Hey,

I'm no computer genius, but try holding down the del key, turning on computer, then release the del key when splash screen comes up.

Or perhaps turn off computer, switch off PSU, wait 20 seconds, then turn on switch/comp and try as normal.

This worked for me as I'm having similar issues.. (Gigabyte Z77x-UD5H)

Good luck!

Ultra fast boot can cause that. That's why Windows 8 has boot to UEFI option.

If OC get corrupted and you can't get to the BIOS, reset CMOS in that case.

BTW if Gigabyte Z87 boards have option there about USB initialization (full, partial, off), try to change them if you want to access the BIOS in normal way.

Flashed the BIOS to F6, That reset everything to default and sorted out my problem. Won't be clicking the fast boot options again. It also now boots quickly without that selected anyway.
Thanks for the Help though guys.
