Going from 7970 to SLI 780s, what's the least painful process?

Thread Starter
Going to upgrade my 7970 to SLI 780s, what's the least painful process? When I first upgraded from my 6870 to a 660 ti ages ago, my friend did it for me removing my AMD drivers while I was at work. Came back to find my SSD's windows took a crap. He blamed it on driversweeping and the AMD drivers corrupting the windows already on my SSD, but I don't buy it.

Either way, the entire thing has me spooked about swapping over to green from red. I basically want to make sure I do not do what he did, as my poor SSD is nearly full and reinstalling would take ages for all my applications. I also hear a lot of horror stories from swapping amd to nvidia on the same windows installation. Then again, the internet also tells me fermi still causes house fires to this day but we all know how the internet works. ;P

Thanks all for reading this! All help/general advice is appreciated.

Also, can't decide which case would be a better fit for my SLI 780s: Fractal R4 or NZXT Phantom 410. Just want plenty of cable management, space, and is quiet/looks nice with a small amount of LEDs compared to my poor CM Elite 430 that is an italian's dream, creating spaghetti in my case everywhere.

The thing about driver sweeper is most likely true. It has happened to me and many others, so you should buy it.
Just uninstall your AMD drivers using the AMD uninstall tool, which is found on their website. This tool only works on windows 7. Then, put the 780's in and install the latest drivers, done.
