I lke bf 2142, I've played BF2 and it seems to old school for me you know, there is already to many games like that. bf2142 is unique so that is what I bought instead. But I might buy bf2 when it goes down to like $1

Battlefield 2142 has been on sale for as low as $25 and BF2 is still $30 that alone should tell you which game is a better investment.

imo bf 2142 is going to get real big real soon. the titan mode is the $***t i love it. it encourages team play and that makes the game so much more fun. i really can not give you a perspective opinion cause i never owned bf2, but have played it for a few hours here and there and it is fantastic. but i say 2142

BF2142 looks like a huge bf2 mod and EA/DICE changed some game mechanics. The new patch out helps allot. But BF2 started out buggy too so I guess if you never played the game back then you wouldn't know.

I like BF2142 as much as BF2. its just a different flavor. Just BF2 is getting old to me so I find my self playing bf2142 more.

the things that make 2142 stand out:
Walkers..
Titan mode..
More visual effects..
More sound effects..
Drones..
Customizable weapon kits..
EMP weapons..

yeah as much as I'm tired of bf2 (because of playing tooo much)

There are still a tone of people playing and most bugs are fixed by now.
Also when the game gets real old and less people are playing it and have moved on you'll be tired of it by then.

Couldn't have said it better myself. They are different flavors of game. I love BF2, but I'm bored with it. And it can get really depressing waiting 30k+ points to rank up in BF2. The BF2 patches are HUGE as well. Like 400MB for the full patch. Then you have the expansion kits to spend money on with that game.

BF2142 I like a little better. It's close though. The titan mode and shields that you can throw up when you're in armor, the walkers, the hover tanks, the revamped APC, the spawn beacons, the COMPLETELY customizable kits for your soldier, the in game buddy list, more awards, more secondary kit items, did I mention titan mode?... yeah, for me that all outweighs the lack of jets that BF2 has.

But if you ask me, you won't go wrong with either game.

lol I knew I was forgetting something. Spawn beacons and armor shields for vehicles! The secondary unlocks like faster sprints and items for squad leaders are very cool too. But Yes, there are a lot of reasons to go with 2142 too. In my book they both have good content and if you have cable you'll be hooked.

I wonder if EA/DICE are going to release a expansion for 2142. I'm sure they will sometime, because they want to squeeze every penny out of us.

go with bf2. bf2142 is basically a mod for bf2 with spyware that you pay 50 bucks for
