Trying to reuse a laptop's HDD on pc. Please help!

Hi guys,

I have a broken laptop lying around so I decided to salvage the HDD and use it on my soon to be delivered PC. But I encountered a problem figuring out which cable to use with it so far I've tried to use this SATA cable but it didn't fit although it appears to be quite identical. Anyway here are the pictures:

This is the Laptop's HDD

Here is the HDD's connector (I found it a bit different from google image! )

This is the cable that i'm trying to fit in

Thanks for helping me smile.gif

Thanks to member gTek it works now :X just pull the laptop adapter out and it will works like a champ :X

It is a standard SATA port and SATA power, maybe you're inserting it wrong or something?

yes i thought so too after doing some google research on the model. But it doesn't matter how i turn the SATA cable it won't fit mad.gif It seems that the L shape of the cable's connector is bigger than the L shape of the HDD.

Seems like there is a Laptop Adapter that Is connected to the Hard Dive.
Try disconnecting the Black connector.
Sould be something similar to this .
Had a Laptop hard drive that got the same Adapter.
