Webcam Problem.

Thread Starter
I bought a Acer Aspire 5102WLMi laptop. The built-in cam only works 50% of the time. It either works or gives me a blank screen. My laptop is still covered under warranty. Is this a driver problem or is it the cam itself? I don't know if I should ship is back to Acer and ask them to replace it. I think this problem will occur again once I get a new one. I also don't want to dish out the dough to ship it there if my cam will get faulty again. However, if laptop built-in cams are usually reliable, should I ship it back and get it fixed? What are the chances my cam will get messed up again? Or is there anyway this could be a driver problem that I can rectify by myself? I checked device manager and everything seems fine. The built-in camera is Bison brand (third party?), any ideas?

Webcams aren't overly expensive. Just go out and get you a decent webcam. Chances are it will be better than the one your acer came with. The cost will probably be around 20-40 usd. Right around the shipping cost you'd spend sending to acer and having them send it back to you.
