Looking to upgrade current build!

Thread Starter
I am looking to see where I could upgrade my current build. I have decided there is no reason to change from my 2500k, and I have also asked around about changing from my original motherboard as I never expected it to carry me that far. I recently purchased a GTX 780 SC and would like to see where else I can flesh out my system. My temps on my processor are pretty good, and its voltage at 4.4 doesn't exceed 1.32; I really think this processor has quite a bit more in it.

I would really like to upgrade my case. I haven't seen anything other than the 350d or a few of the fractal cases that really stand out. I am trying to see if there are any suggestions as to what else I could look into. Watercooling is always a possibility, even if it is a an addiction that is hard to stop once started biggrin.gif

Everything that is in my sig rig is up to date. I am open to all suggestions and look forward to discussions on this!

Not exactly sure what you are looking for us to say. If you go with a Z77 motherboard, you will get higher overclocks out of your CPU at lower voltages. That would also require better cooling more than likely (4.8GHz and above). The GTX 780 is good enough to max out probably any game @ 1080p. You have an SSD, perhaps get an identical and go RAID?

Looks like you are looking at pretty small cases though, so there are few cases that will require you to do a lot. Many of the fractals can fit an H100/H110/Kraken X60 though. The Fractal Design Define R4 comes to mind.

Being on Sandy Bridge also limits the memory frequency available to you, at most 2133. If you don't want to purchase a new kit, people have gotten the HyperX Blu to do 2000 MHz @ 9-11-9-28.

This is exactly what I'm looking for. I have my memory only at 1600 and haven't pushed that further. The boost from getting a new mobo would be great if it help me push by card higher and make better use for sli. The former more do than the latter.

As for cases, I like the design of those cases and their price points. I also like caselabs as well but are just a bit too rich for my blood as I could put that extra expense into my components.

I have a 1tb western digital blue as well for all of my games plus an unused 500gb. Also have a 250gb external for whatever else. Good suggestion though!

The raid idea is cool but my operating system boots fast enough a d programs load in a snap off of it already.
