Please recommend a mouse that is just like the SteelSeries Sensei [RAW]?

Thread Starter
About 6 months ago I purchased a SteelSeries Sensei [RAW] and it had major USB issues.
This post below explains exactly what I was experiencing:
http://play.esea.net/index.php?s=forums&d=topic&id=426193

I had to get rid of it and buy the Razer Deathadder 2013. The Deathadder isn't working out for me.

The problem I was experiencing was this:
If the mouse was plugged in when the SteelSeries Engine loads it would shutdown and go crazy.
So if I started my PC up like normal and just let my desktop load like normal. GAME OVER mouse lights start going crazy and it shuts down.

The only workaround that I could find was the following:
Turn on PC.
While PC was loading, unplug mouse from back of computer.
Wait for desktop to load and SteelSeries Engine to load, then plug mouse back in.

Yes, my firmware was completely up to date.
Yes, my software was completely up to date.
I even returned it and ordered another one just to make sure I didn't have a defective model.

The Sensei [RAW] was the best mouse for FPS gaming that I have ever used.
The things I liked about it:
Light weight. So easy to hit flick shots.
No large hump, more of a flat surface.
450CPI which most mice don't have. They don't increment by 50.

What I currently hate about my DeathAdder 2013:
Too heavy. My hand feels like led when moving it or trying to aim.
The hump on it makes my reaction shots so slow because my hand isn't flat.
What I like about it:
The structure feels Non-Cheap.
The software awesome.
Endless settings.
Never any driver or usb/firmware issues.

Any suggestions? Before I either order another Sensei [RAW] because I love it so much that I will deal with all of the hardware issues it brings along. Or try a new mouse like the Zowie FK.

By the way has anyone else experience all of these hardware issues with the Sensei [RAW], I would like to know. Also, should I product even be on the market where you can never put your PC to sleep, have to play around with USB Hub power settings, etc. just to use a fricken mouse.

I have a sensei raw and have not experienced any of the problems you describe. If you have already tried 2 different Sensei Raw mice I wouldn't try another. Most likely you will have the same problems.

The mouse that I think is close to the Sensei is the Zowie AM. It has no software and the DPI steps are 450/1150/2300. The lift off distance is very low. Since it comes with no software it is strictly plug and play. There is no adjustment to the DPI steps nor the lift off distance. Many people find it hard to grip the mouse as well due to the coating. The FK is supposed to be easier to grip and is very similar to the AM.

Roccat Savu? Although I tend to stay away from Roccat, it's been well received so far.

I would give the RAW another shot. To me, it sounds like you're having some software / driver conflict.

The Mionix Avior 8200 looks like it could be a pretty similar mouse with a different shape. I was planning on getting one myself, but haven't been able to find any reviews on it.

If you have a big hand, I would reccomend a Roccat Kone XTD. It has an adjustable weight system, so if its too heavy you will be able to adjust it. But a mouse with a straight profile might be the Razer Taipan. You said you disliked the weight of the Deathadder, which is 148 grams.

Here are some mice you might enjoy. By order of recommendation:
1) Zowie AM cheap for 55 dollars. A shape very similar to the Sensei and its very light (88 grams)
2) Steelseries Ikari goes around 60 dollars. its around a 100 grams so its pretty light. It has two versions: the optical and the laser one. The laser one is hard to find nowadays, but it is a lot better. The only problem is that this mouse has a very relaxed palm grip in which you cant really squeeze tight the mouse to lift it, and you won't have very agressive response times. For a faster and more responsive gaming experience, a claw grip would be better.

I throw in 2 Roccat mice. Savu (around 90g, damn responsive, good tracking, awkward shape though, you MUST like it or not) and Roccat Kone Pure Optical (around 95g, same good performance, but with a more human shape lol).
