OP you have a very good AM3+ motherboard. the sensible option is to sell the FX-8120 and and get a FX-8320. overclock to 4.5+ ghz. piledriver has improved single thread performance to the tune of 10% over bulldozer. also it draws lesser power compared to bulldozer. for gaming most games are multithreaded. there is not much difference between a 4.5 Ghz FX and 4.5 Ghz core i7. there might be a few games like Skyrim or Starcraft where Intel CPUs dominate but they do not represent the current gaming industry trends. Given that Xbox One and PS4 have 8 threads developers will go for wide multithreading of the next gen game engines and games. FrostBite 2/3, Cryengine 3 and Unreal Engine 4 game engines all should perform well on the FX processors. thumb.gif
