Upgrading from GTX 670 SLI?

Thread Starter
Hi Guys,

I currently have 2 x Asus GTX 670 2GB in SLI and while the performance is really good, they don't overclock amazingly (1202mhz core) and i want to watercool them but i cant find waterblocks in stock anywhere for these cards.

They are only worth about £300 for the two i'm guessing if i was to sell.

The logical step up would be GTX 780 3GB but it will cost £1000+ then waterblocks ontop.

Should i stick with what i have and deal with the higher temps on my cards or sell now and get a single GTX 780 and look to get another?

At the moment i have to have an intake fan on my side panel to cool the cards and its bringing in a lot of dust.

I only play at 1080p at the moment but dont want to rule out any future upgrades to higher resolutions and also i run 120hz so 120FPS is important to me.

Any suggestions welcomed

I'd say keep them how they are, you won't get much for them, but they do offer good performance still, and probably will for at least another 2-3 years minimum.

If you really want waterblocks for them I'm sure they're still available, and if you can't get full coverage blocks you can always get universal blocks and VRM passive coolers, or cool the VRMs and memory with a small fan.

Try this site to find a waterblock for your card: http://www.coolingconfigurator.com/

Cheers guys,

It is indeed the EK waterblocks i would need, EK themselves sell them but have limited qualitiy. Would cost me £240 for both with shipping to the UK.

I believe with the EK waterblock for these card you cant use the original ASUS backplate and have to buy the EK one which is another £25ish each

Don't upgrade.

No single card is going to be an upgrade to what you already have really...

I'd definitely say wait. The only really worthwhile upgrade to your setup would be 780 SLI and that's not exactly a cheap upgrade nor would it really be that noticeable if you're only gaming on one monitor.
